Dow Jones Financial Enterprise Reporter in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

The Wall Street Journal is seeking an experienced reporter to join its Financial Enterprise team. The reporter will have a beat at the center of a global story: the rise of financial globalization and the flow of foreign capital into America. The huge financial power of China, and its ambitions on the world stage, are a key part of this beat. The reporter would examine the state-owned Chinese banks financing buildings in Manhattan; and the Chinese sovereign-wealth fund, insurance firms and others who buy U.S. assets or team with U.S. investors. In addition to China, Middle Eastern investors like Saudi Arabia and Qatar are jostling for influence in the U.S. through financial markets. This is a beat for a reporter with strong newsbreaking abilities and the experience to write with authority and at length. Reporting experience in China and Chinese language ability are strongly preferred.
