Job Description:
The Wall Street Journal is looking for a Research Analyst to create datasets and perform other tasks supporting the growth and development of WSJ Pro Cybersecurity and other WSJ Pro verticals.
WSJ Pro Cybersecurity encompasses daily newsletters, white papers, virtual and in-person events, and data-centric projects to provide executive decision-making support.
A deep knowledge of cybersecurity is not expected, though an understanding of the broad issues, particularly in a business context, and a willingness to learn more is expected.
You will:
Create datasets and bring them to life for our audience
Work with the Pro team to plan and formulate surveys to create proprietary datasets
Develop an understanding of and leverage the significant resources within Dow Jones and the Wall Street Journal
Work with third parties to access data, and to employ data visualization techniques to draw out insights.
Present data at Wall Street Journal events
You have:
Broad understanding of and interest in cybersecurity and business themes, and a willingness to expand that knowledge
Data collection, analysis and visualization skills
Ability to communicate information effectively
Presentation skills and willingness to speak in front of an audience in person of virtually
Curiosity and an innovative streak
Ability to respond to customer requirements
Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to translate strategic vision into actions and to work independently
Open source research skills and the ability to handle large volumes of information
Ability to build and maintain good working relationships internally and externally
While you may start remotely, this position will eventually be based in our New York City or Princeton office.
