Job Description:

WSJ. Magazine is looking for a seasoned fashion editor to cover the women's market.

You will report to the Style Director for WSJ. Magazine.

You will:

  • Attend seasonal fashion shows and market appointments both in New York and Europe to view new collections for possible inclusion in the magazine

  • Maintain and grow relationships with in-house and agency PR representatives

  • Assist in conceptualizing and curating fashion and accessory trends each season by compiling trend boards

  • Photograph new product in the market each season and upload images to our team server for future reference

  • Research and scout new and emerging brands in all categories

  • Visit showrooms and take meetings to fully understand the market and make sure magazine is consistently on the pulse of what’s new

  • Work with our team of stylists to realize their creative visions

  • Oversee the women’s market requests for all photo shoots

  • Work with style director to properly delegate market requests amongst the fashion team

  • Send out market requests for RTW and accessory brands and work alongside closet assistants to ensure all product arrives in a timely manner

  • Closely monitor the closet team so that they understand their responsibilities each day and maintain a timeline for upcoming shoots

  • Create an initial edit of all RTW and accessories for style director’s review

  • Act as magazine representative at industry events

  • Provide consistent guidance to fashion assistants and work with style director on team management

  • Contribute story ideas and industry news to features team

  • Work closely with web and social teams to highlight fashion coverage online
